RARE NEWCOMB COLLEGE POTTERY GREEN LAMP BASE ART POTTERY

Just discovered in an old North Carolina estate I am offering for the first time to the public this Rare Newcomb College Lamp base. Unfortunately there was no shade present only this base. The base is marked on the bottom with the Newcomb College mark along with the letters I am having trouble making out. I have them pictured very close so you can see them. The pottery base is 12 1/2” tall and the base is 5 6/8” across. The lamp stands 21 1/2” tall with the lamp hardware. The lamp hardware all appears to be original with the exception of one pull chain and one bulb socket. The original chains have small acorns on the bottom of the chain that also matches the finial on top. There are no chips or cracks on the lamp base. There are what I call rub marks on the base. Something has rubbed on it and left a silver colored rub mark and a few other rub marks. I have them pictured. I did not try to get them off other that using a damp cloth. They may come off but I did not want to damage anything. The wiring to the lamp has only a short fragment of it left. The glaze is a beautiful kind of teal green. The base is very heavy weighting just over 5 pounds. Lamps are extremely rare to find. This is not a piece that will come up for sale often. Please email with any questions you may have.
